Trembling from time to time is normal, due to sometimes cold, or otherwise emotional.

Trembling requires consulting your doctor if it lasts for a relatively long time, in order to see the real underlying cause.

Trembling has several causes, such as excessive caffeine intake, medication use or low blood sugar, and may indicate certain diseases, such as Parkinson's disease.

In the elderly, some parts of the body may tremble for no reason, and patients in what is known as idiopathic tremor, the most common movement disorder.

It usually includes a shake in the arms, hands or fingers, but sometimes includes a shake in the head, vocal cords or other parts of the body during voluntary movements such as eating and writing.
